A Bad Influence FINAL by ayabrea A Bad Influence FINAL by ayabrea
I finally finished coloring it after three evenings! Phew! One of my best line art and one of my best colorings, in my opinion. I really hate spending that much time coloring, though, but I think it turned out much better than my one day coloring jobs. I had to hit myself a couple of times and say "Slow down, damn it! You're going to ruin it!" My computer, Rokku, decided to help by creating IMMESE LAG between steps, so I had a lot of time to think about how something looked. I also spent my time fixing the line art in Photoshop as I colored, and this time, the coloring itself was only in ONE layer! O_O

I have mixed feelings about X being in there. Axl and Zero both are more serious looking, have much more elborate details and coloring, and X in a sense kind of ruins it for the atmosphere by being chibi and simple... but everyone told me to keep him, and he is kinda cute, so I left him in there.

Yes, I still suck at backgrounds. Kill me.

ZeroAxl is my second fav pairing in the Rockman X universe ^_^ Right after ZeroX. Thee hee, I'll make it up to X later ^_^

Inked with Deleter Nikko-G pen nib on Deleter Sketchbook paper, colored in Photoshop ELEMENTS (yes, some of us can't afford 7.0 and don't want to steal a copy XD)

Whoo! ZeroAxl! *spazzes happily* I think this pairing is so overlooked, it's so difficult to find some good ZeroAxl (whether it be fanart or fanfics). It's always ZeroX (not that I have anything against that - I love it - but Axl needs love too XD).
So yeah, I'm absolutely love this! \o/ Hee~! Chibi X is so cute!

Sigh, unfortunately no one I know would buy me a 700 dollar plus gift like that. (and I'm not sure if I could accept it O_O) People have offered to give me a copy of theirs, but that's essentially stealing, since they bought one license.

I was given mine as a gift. And I could give it to you as a gift as well by either letting you download it or burning it onto a cd. It's not stealing if it was given to you. Some of the programs I got were given to me (you can see hem all on the desktop screenshop I posted) I don't care about no stupid license anyways.

I appreciate the thought behind the offer, but that _is_ stealing. Whoever bought the physical discs only bought one end-user license with it, so you're using an illegal copy, and stealing from the people who sweat blood writing that program. There are programs that are shareware or freeware, which you don't have to buy a license to use, but Photopshop 7 is definitely neither one. Using a copy without purchasing a license is like walking out the store with one underneath your clothes, electronically. If you think I'm lying to you, go ahead and write Adobe and ask them what they think.

Think about how you would feel if someone stole a piece of your artwork. Now think about it if you depended on selling your artwork to buy food and someone rips it off your site and hosts it on theirs. Wouldn't you be mad?

It's called sharing the license. You get one copy and install it on a bunch of computers. Yet only got one license. People do that all the time. Itís not stealing. If people wanna share there license with me thatís fine. Look at all these high-end companies. They buy only one copy of something and put it on all there computers. Shop my brother works for security and they were moving some of their computers to a new building. They gave him a free comp (they bought a few new ones to replace some of the old) and some copes of some programs.

If I didn't have a friend who was willing to share there license and program I wouldn't have any art to post.

Are you calling up your friends everytime you use photoshop to make sure they're not using their copy when you use theirs? Sharing a license in that way is illegal, it is stealing. If you think it is legal consider this: why do you think so many computer companies protect their source code like the holy grail? Or if it is legal, what's to stop a massive "friends sharing programs" movent where only one hundred people buy Photoshop, and everyone shares it? A project Adobe spent multi million dollars on would only turn back 700 x 100 = 70,000 dollars, minus the discount they have to sell to the computer companies at... They're losing millions of dollars! What kind of company would invest in a failing investment like that, and condone such action? Of course they wouldn't. A lot of people I know from school ended up in the tech sector, and all of them at one time or another have complained about people stealing programs like that.

To quote Twain "Just because it's popular doesn't make it right."

As for buying one copy of software for companies, you misunderstand the legal way of doing it. My computer teacher went and talked with Adobe for a deal on a string of their software programs for our school computers. We have fifteen computers in our MAC lab. We have one BOX for adobe photoshop, illustrator, etc (why get ten boxes and sets of discs when you only need one to install in multiple computers), but (The big distinction here) she holds fifteeen user licenses and keys (and paid for them) for permission to install it on fifteen computers and have fifteen students use it at the same time. I went to school smack dab in the middle of Silicon Valley, down the street from Apple Computer, Compaq, Hewlett Packard and about every software/hardware company you can name, so the topic comes up a lot.

A lot of people have misconceptions about what's legal in terms of software usage, and they think if someone else is doing it, it must be fine. It's not.

Oh so if someone has the program on a cd (the real cd, not a burned copy, like myb photoshop) and they give it away as a gift due to them now owning an updated vershion of it, there not allowed to give it away? I find that very hard to beleave. Seeing as how so many people and even shops sell used stuff. A pawn shop here was even selling a used copy of photoshop 4.0.

If thats the case then I guess my friend in germiny was in the wrong for buying me a copy of Ecco the dolphin PC (yeah just TRY finding that one in the us..) and sending it to me. Sence to you only people who buy such things can truly own it. Theres no gift giving.

This mean only my mom can play zoo tycoon sense she bouhgt it? even if it was bought for me?

Or that I can only instal this stuff on the one comp I have. So this other one sitting next to me, or even my brothers computer, I'm not allowed to instal the stuff on to them cause there another computer. What if my comp goes out huh? Wow I wont be able to instal any of my programs on a new one cause they were on the last!!

I'd really like you to tell me who really goes out and buys new copys of the same program that they already got just so they can stick it on a new computer.

companies are difrent but there are a LOT that do the same thing. They have one copy for every computer. No asking, they just do it.

Well, you can forget about getting my photoshop7, seeing as how to you were not allowed to give what we own away as a gift. I offerd to let you download it cause most rather not give out there home adys.

You're missing the point. One license means installed and used in one computer. If you took the time to read the end user license agreement when you installed the program, we wouldn't being having this discussion right now.

Sure you can resell or give away programs as gifts, but the honor system way of going about it is that when you sell it or give it away, you've already uninstalled the program from your computer or never installed it in the first place, and are transfering the rights of the license to a different individual. I'm not saying "OMG, you didn't walk into the store and buy it yourself, you don't own it." It seems what you're talking about, this license sharing, is actually one license, mulitple computers installed. That is stealing. When you install a program in one computer and multiple users use that computer, that is fine, because limiting the installation into one computer at a time means there is a restriction on the number of users who could possibily be using it at one time. You can use it, someone else in the family has to wait their turn or use it with you, or buy a separate license/copy for use on their computer if they want to use it whenever you're using yours.

No, you are not allowed to install one licensed program onto multiple home computers when you're going to use them all. Read the end user license agreement. If you install the program onto another computer, then you can only keep the program on another computer as an _archival_ copy (backup copy) or must uninstall it completely. If one computer goes kaput, then you may install it on a new computer since you've still got one license, and may install it for use in one computer. Don't believe me, please, call Adobe and ask their custsomer service specialist.

As to your question about who goes out to buy a new copy of a software for use on a new computer, I once again point to my high school computer teacher, who bought fifteen user license agreements for use of programs on fifteen computers. That is the legal way to do it. You want to do it an illegal way, fine, but please don't even try to make it sound legal.

Now you're pointing to some vage "all companies" thing and tell me that they copy one program onto multiple computers. How many of them have you worked for? And do you know for a fact that they don't have multiple licenses for one program? Let's hear some names and programs so we can start forwarding them to the respective owners of said programs. They don't have to ask, in fact, because they've already bought the program's licenses or they're pirating the program. In either case, contact with the program owner is unnecessary or ill-advised. I don't call up bill gates and go "dude, I'm using windows xp, okay? I totally bought it at the store!"

I never wanted your Photoshop 7 in the first place. I don't take kindly to people stealing my stuff, so I'm not going to steal from the programers who worked hard on this program. If I'm going to use it one day, I'm going to purchase a legit copy, knowing I'm compensating people for the hard work they've done to let me use such a good program.

I'm not feeling sorry for you at all, despite what you said about "Oh, I wouldn't even be able to put out art if I didn't have a copy of PS7" Plenty of good artists on DA and out here work with natural media and still can put out good art, or they don't own pirated copies of programs but still make do with what they've got. Oh, woe is you, "I can't put up stuff on DA if I don't "share" PS7 with my friend." Like not being able to use a posh art program to draw is the most tragic thing in the world. There are plenty of other things that can go wrong with your life, and not being able to draw unless you have PS7 should not even make the list of things to say out loud.

Using a pirated copy, you're not supporting the people who worked hard on this program, making it less worthwhile and much harder for them to put out new versions of the program with much better innovation than before. This is going to hurt all of us in the long run. If someone stole your fan fic idea everytime and then got acolades for it but you were left in the dust, wouldn't it piss you off?

Do what you must, but dang it, if you're going to break the law, at least have the deceny to keep it down and not flaunt it like you've found the greatest loophole in the world, because you HAVEN'T. Your program sharing is illegal. It is wrong. I can't stop you, so I'm just going to sit here and enjoy my tea.

But I am going to tell you this: It's rude enough that you posted a comment on my art that has nothing to do with my art, but when I disagreed with you point blank, you had the aduacity to start an argument thread with unfounded biases about "rich computer companies" and "sharing" to try to justify breaking the law. READ THE END USER AGREEMENT! To degrade yourself even more, you've apparently lost your ability to type in your anger. Our conversation has ended. There are some people you can convince, and then there are people you might as well be throwing bricks at, since it won't make a difference either way.
